Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager with a strong background in project management, site management, and purchasing within the passive fire safety industry, with a specific focus on fire door installations, maintenance, and fire stopping. The successful candidate will be based in our Glasgow office, with the flexibility and willingness to travel throughout the UK as required. Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
– Oversee and manage projects with a focus on fire door installations, maintenance, and fire stopping from initiation to completion.
– Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
– Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
– Organize on-site personnel, generate job sheets or project schedules, and optimize their diaries for increased productivity.
2. Site Management:
– Conduct site assessments and surveys specific to fire door installations and fire stopping requirements.
– Supervise and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
– Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to address project challenges effectively.
– Complete daily reports, schedules and audits.
– Ensure all subcontractors and operatives are following the company code of conduct.
– Ensuring health and safety standards are met and adhered to
3. Purchasing:
– Liaise with the QS to source and procure materials and equipment required for projects.
– Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
– Ensure all materials required for the projects are delivered or stored within good time before the works commences.
4. Quality Assurance:
– Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet industry standards and regulations.
– Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
– When required, carry out toolbox talks and training with operatives.
5. Communication:
– Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on all project milestones and addressing any concerns.
– Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.
6. Travel:
– Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to travel throughout the UK as needed for projects related to fire door installations, maintenance, and fire stopping.
Qualifications and Skills:
– Proven experience in project management, site management, and purchasing within the passive fire safety industry, with a specific emphasis on fire door installations, maintenance, and fire stopping.
– Strong understanding of passive fire protection standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly related to fire doors and fire stopping.
– Carpentry experience desirable.
– Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficient with CRM systems and MS office suite.
– Willingness to travel throughout the UK when required.
– Relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional, Fire Safety certifications) are advantageous.
